The action of assignment of a hierarchical set of attributes to any object to allocate secondary identifying data which can be applied for:

• Accessing objects with a specified classification, or
• Grouping together and reporting a range of objects with a similar or exact classification, as specified.

AssetWise supports a user-definable multi-level classification system. Classification of objects can also be applied to create and maintain standard or preferred object templates.
